What is interesting is that Pinterest is becoming a major player yet only 0.90% of its visitors go to their business accounts page, compared to 97.04% of visitors going to the home page. This means that there is a huge potential for businesses to get in there to promote their company’s brand and products.

Alternatively, people working for businesses are creating boards and adding links to their product page inside the pins. For example, a boutique selling wedding dresses would create a board* about wedding dresses and add links to their website.

However, not everyone has the time, experience or expertise to do this or to maintain it regularly. Some people may start a board and start pinning and fall behind in maintaining that board when they’re too busy with their normal business (which is running a shop).

*a board on Pinterest is similar to a Facebook page.
